The budget of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing decreases by $106.6M. This is explained by:
-
- Amounts invested in 2021-2022 to accelerate the completion of housing units announced under the AccèsLogis Québec program:
- Exclusion of $262M in measures from the 2022-2023 Budget that are non-recurring in scope, and the transfer of $1.9M from a provision for initiatives concerning revenue and fraud.
- Amounts invested in 2021-2022 to accelerate the completion of housing units announced under the AccèsLogis Québec program:
A surplus of $88.1M at the SHQ in 2022-2023, compared with an anticipated surplus of $47.8M in 2021-2022. The variation is explained by a $40.3M increase in revenue from CMHC, offset by a projected increase in spending on affordable housing construction programs and on certain programs that help low-income households pay their rent.
