Housing

To promote access to housing, the 2024-2025 budget provides for a total investment of $482.5M, namely:

•     $200.8M over three years to continue housing assistance through the Shelter Allowance program;
•     $219.4M over four years to maintain the social housing stock;
•     $62.3M over three years to adapt and support the housing market.

 This amount is in addition to the substantial $1.8B investment announced in fall 2023 to enable the construction of 8,000 social and affordable housing units.
